Meet Bobi: The New Oldest Dog in the World and of All-Time!

Bobi, a Rafeiro do Alentejo from Portugal, holds the title of the oldest dog in the world, according to the Guinness World Records. With an age of 30 years and 266 days as of February, Bobi is considered a remarkable animal.

His owner, Leonel, has had the privilege of caring for Bobi for the past 22 years and describes him as a cherished pet who enjoys walks on the farm, naps by the fireplace, and sharing meals with his beloved humans.

‘Bobi has been a true survivor for all these years,’ Leonel stated. ‘His longevity is remarkable, especially given the average lifespan of dogs. We are grateful to have Bobi in our lives for another 30 years.’

Bobi’s age has been verified by a local veterinary service and a government pet database. Despite facing some health challenges in 2018, he has since recovered and continues to thrive.

Bobi has surpassed the previous record held by Bluey the Australian cattle dog, who passed away in 1939 at 29 years and 5 months old.
